Winemaking Tips

We get many requests for advice, sometimes ‘after the fact.’ We thank you for making wine with Wine Kitz Halifax, and to help you in making the best wine possible every time, here are some tried and true winemaking tips:

  • Always record the batch number provided on the top of the box or concentrate bladder
  • Always do hydrometer readings
  • Ask us before using a heat belt
  • Wine should never exceed 14 days in primary fermenter
  • Always follow the recipe included in your kit
  • Thoroughly clean all equipment with chloriclean prior to each use
